When Your Best Isn't Good Enough for Others

Assalaamu'alaikum. Good morning, wonderful people. Hope you're living your life to the fullest as suggested by that popular quote. Aamiin.

This morning I'd like to talk a little bit about a state of life when you've done your best, but others think that it is not good enough. I believe that experiencing such a thing is annoying. However, it commonly happens in an organization. Let me share with you what I think and please share yours.

Have you ever felt underestimated. Was there any moment in your life when you felt like you've done your best but it wasn't good enough for others? If your answer is yes, I'm with you.

In our personal and professional lives, we have responsibilities. I believe that if you're a responsible person, no matter how good your capacity is, you'll do your best to fulfill your responsibilities. At least, you will find any ways you can do to do it. You'll ask people around you for suggestions, google for ideas, or read books, or learn from past experiences shared on social media platforms. When you're lucky or hard working enough, you'll find some that might suite your responsibilities. Or, a little harder, there would be some ideas to use to address the problems.

However, what we think is good for us might not necessarily and similarly be good for others. Each person has their own standard of anything in life. Therefore, something good you think you have done may be not good enough for the people around you. It sucks, indeed. If you overthink it, you'll get stressed.

Here are some ways you can do when you get underestimated:
  • Convince yourself that you've done your best.
  • Rethink and evaluate what you've done. Take the underestimated part and reflect on that. This time, we need to try to listen to what they say.
  • Improve your performance and do not need to keep looking back at what we did. What's done is done. Work harder next time.
That's all what I think about this subject. You might have a different perspective, or you have different and better solutions. That's totally OK. Let's share, sttrengthen, and empower each other. There's always a way to be a better version of ourselves.

Wassalaamu'alaikum.
